Being a Man: Fortitude

In the first article of this series, we looked at what made a man, and more specifically, the core traits and characteristics of men, starting with fitness.

Another fundamental aspect of being a man is þrekr. Or fortitude. In other words, strength of mind. The very foundation of stoicism, boldness, bravery, courage, determination, fearlessness, tenacity, patience, nerve, and even valor. It is what it means to have balls.

More importantly, fortitude allows a man to be immune to environmental factors. May it be privation, discomfort, suffering, offense, or even death. Allowing for a full expression of his identity and skills as a man, without outside influence or interference.
