SO, YOU WANT TO FIX YOUR BROS... THE VIKING WAY...
Well, this is what this course is for: To show you how to deal with injuries and other problems in the middle of nowhere, where there's no immediate access to emergency services. It's like a wilderness first aid course, but without the civilian bullshit, emphasizing instead on a military, and you guessed it, traditional viking approach.
The Læknir course is entirely completed online at your own pace. For our bros deployed in countries with unreliable internet access, we can also send all materials covered in the course on a USB key.
This course is organized in 3 main sections (some with various subsections) following the APT concept: Assess (Kunna), Prioritize (Kjósa), and Treat (Bœta).
A practical element to this online course, the Hraunslækning camp (Wilderness First Aid), is also available as an option.
WHAT'S COVERED IN THE LÆKNING COURSE
Before you can do anything, you need to assess the situation and potential dangers. Dying trying to assist isn't gonna help anybody, and the level of risk you may be willing to take will vary whether you are dealing with complete strangers or your own bro(s). When several victims are involved, you're gonna have to make tough choices as well.
Once you have assessed the situation, you first need to deal with the life threatening stuff, and check for breathing, bleeding, and a beating heart. If any of this requires attention, you need to address it super quickly, or the bro will die.
Once you dealt with the life-threatening stuff, you can start treating other injuries and conditions, with whatever you have available, usually not much because you are in the middle of nowhere, remember? And yeah, this includes the local plants and trees.
How to get started? Easy: You just need to sign up!
Cost of course is $100.
