This course is about getting fit like a Víkingr, by developing functional muscles and body strength, completely naturally, with no gym, no steroids, and no supplements. Just your genes and your sweat.
The Styrkr course is entirely completed online at your own pace. For our bros deployed in countries with unreliable internet access, we can also send all materials covered in the course on a USB key.
This course is organized in 3 main sections (some with various subsections): Andarkrapptr (Mind), Áta (Food), and Bolfimligr (Body).
WHAT'S COVERED IN THE STYRKR COURSE
In Old Norse, andarkraptr actually translates into "strength of mind". Psychological hardiness and self-motivation, part of a healthy warrior mind, are essential in achieving physical fitness. This section covers the concepts of psychological hardiness and motivation from a military and sport perspective.
Átan doesn't only mean food in Old Norse. It actually means "proper food". What you eat, and what you use to fuel your body, is also essential in developing physical strength and overall fitness. This section therefore addresses fundamental nutritional concepts, so you can become or remain fit.
The meaning of bolfimligr goes beyond body, as it refers more specifically to being "agile of body". Physical strength and fitness are more than just looking good. They're also about having muscles that are actually functional rather than merely decorative. This section provides exercise guidelines and options using your own body weight, without the need for equipment or a gym.
