Take Care of Your Bow

These are procedures to take care of your bow. This will ensure you can pass it on to your boy. And if you got the bow from us, following these procedures is a condition of the warranty.

Storage

  1. If you live in a dry climate, your bow must be stored in a room with a humidifier, or if you don’t have this, in the bathroom, as taking frequent showers will keep humidity levels up.

  2. Store your bow away from direct sunlight.

  3. Store your bow away from a heat source, including fire.

  4. Always store your bow unstrung.

  5. Do not store your bow in the pipe/plastic container it was shipped in.

Setting Up

  1. Always inspect the bow string for excessive wear before shooting. Keeping the string waxed will extend its life.

  2. Inspect your bow before any set up or shooting for splinters, cracks, or anything unusual.

  3. Your bow must be strung using a double loop stringer (provided with bow we sell).

  4. Do not brace your bow above the established brace height (measured from the belly of the bow).

Shooting

  1. Never, ever dry shoot your bow. Dry shoot is when you release the string without an arrow. This will transfer all the energy to the bow rather than the arrow, and may destroy it.

  2. Don’t shoot your bow cold. Warm up your bow by bracing, waiting a few minutes, and then drawing your bow to half of its draw limit about 15 times.

  3. Never pull the bow father than the draw length (established at the time of the order for bow we sell).

  4. Do not let other people shoot your bow.
