Training Programs & individual courses

You’ve got a few options when it comes to extending your education, each related to varied depths of traditional skills and ancestral knowledge, a specific rank, and associated privileges, including membership in the Sverðin brotherhood.

Participation in any training is subject to our rules. Probably a good idea as well that you be onboard with our Code, masculinity, and where we stand politically.

All courses provided by Áskunnr Gunnarskólinn (The School of Combat).

HIRÐMAÐR

LEVEL 1 - ONLINE

As a Hirðmaðr (Old Norse for Hirdman), you'll learn the basics about Norse culture, and what it takes to survive in the bush. You’ll greatly improve your fitness, and you'll also get a feel of what being a warrior is all about. Upon reaching the rank of Hirðmaðr, you may have the option to join a Hirð (Unit).

HERSIR

LEVEL 2 - ONLINE & PRACTICAL

Reaching the rank of Hersir means being part of an elite group of men and Víkingar. No more than 5% of all Hirðmenn will indeed ever be selected for promotion. The program consists of self-development, additional online education, as well as practical training within a unit. Hersar may have the option to lead a Hirð (Unit).

BERSERKR

LEVEL 3 - OPERATOR

The rank of Berserkr is at Special Operation Forces Operator level. The promotion is exceptionally selective, with most candidates being identified in various combat theaters around the world, while on deployment. Berserkir integrate actual combat units within Jómsvíkingar (a military contracting operation with an emphasis on armed combat and security).

INDIVIDUAL COURSES

Most courses offered in each training program may also be taken separately and individually. In addition, several other courses relating to Norse culture, skills and combat are also offered.
